  1. Works well for SW X-wing

Posted by Unknown on 2nd Oct 2013

In response to drkjedi35, it took all of 30 seconds to make several dials "compatible" using nothing more than a red and green marker and a light tough. Imagination is key to the operation. Thanks Litko.

  2. Outstanding for custom ships or worn dials

Posted by Belouve on 5th Jun 2013

I have several custom ships (Shapeways) that are to scale, and use their own movement templates.

I can use this dial alongside the movement templates to control my custom ships. I can also use the movement templates that come with each of the ships (or they are available on BoardGameGeek for all the official ships).

One dial can be used with any ship (one per ship, of course) provided you have the template (which they give you when you buy the ships, or do custom). Not for use in official tournaments, but a lot of custom stuff isn't allowed anyways.

Outside of it's usefulness, the build quality is nice. The center spoke is made up of 3 small, high-power magnets, which you need to install yourself. The brightness of the numbers could be better, mine came out with low contrast, and at times seemed more like a grey-on-black. Improvements could be made for readability.

Also, I might like the option for the U-Turn symbol to be RED. All official ships (and almost all custom ships) have the U-Turn as red. Being able to customize the backside (when they are facedown) with a ship type (or any short text you want) would be nice too.

  3. A good answer to a tough question

Posted by Chuckrock on 2nd May 2013

If you're trying to use your micro machine models or testing a homemade ship, this is the best answer available, especially for the price.

  4. the best litko could do

Posted by clammer on 26th Jan 2013

Seriously folks, this is a difficult legal situation for people trying to make parts for the x wing game. Notice how they have to call their stuff "space fighter"? That's because the S.W. owners are litigious. If they can't say "x wing maneuver gauge" legally, then I can only assume this is as close as lawyers would let them get.

So yes, if you're going to use them as replacements for the stock disks, you're going to need the maneuver chart from the expansion packs of each ship.

But if you're using them to give a maneuver dial to a custom made ship (you'll still want to draw up a maneuver chart) they're pretty brilliant. Think your new Jedi interceptor should be able to pull a one point koigan? Or maybe you think your Imperial shuttle wouldn't have red moves. This dial is perfect.

In summation: custom piece builders should order a few of these!

  5. Works for custom ships OR

Posted by breakmanynecks on 30th Dec 2012

This product is very useful if you are adding your own ships to the game, like the Tie Bomber or the Imperial Shuttle. It is also partially compatible with the any ship in the game if you download and printout the maneuver charts available on Boardgamegeek. If you wanted to give your favorite pilot a souped up ship, you would need this product.

  6. Another non-compatible product

Posted by Roy (drkjedi35) on 12th Oct 2012

In the X-wing Miniatures game, each maneuver dial is different depending on the ship it is used for. This is just a generic dial that does not represent any ship in this game. It also does not have green and red maneuvers which are an integral part of the game. I can understand the desire to produce durable products to replace the less durable ones that came with the game, but please do the research necessary to make sure that the dials you try to sell people actually work with the game. If you buy this product as it is, you will feel like you were ripped off before you attempt to play your first game with them. Until they create dials that are ship specific, do not buy this product.
